Well I use Padmapper, which takes everything from craigslist and other apartment sites, and puts them on Google Maps. It’s also good to look at realty companies to see their rental listings.
Other than that, it’s a lot of calling and calling, apartment viewing, and trying to sign before someone else takes the apartment you want. Some people hire brokers, who can find some really amazing things, but it can get a bit expensive after a while.
